Εδώ και 15 χρόνια αυτή η παρέα δεν έχει μαλώσει και δεν έχει χωρίσει ποτέ. Η Μπαλού, μαύρη αμερικανική αρκούδα, ο Λίο το λιοντάρι και ο τίγρης Σερ Καν απελευθερώθηκαν το 2001 από ισάριθμα διαφορετικά σπίτια πλουσίων στα οποία ζούσαν υπό άθλιες συνθήκες και στην περίπτωση της Μπαλού, φέροντας και σοβαρά τραύματα. Βρέθηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια μιας αστυνομικής επιχείρησης στην Ατλάντα. Ήταν και οι τρεις υποσιτισμένοι, ταλαιπωρημένοι και φυλακισμένοι σε κλουβιά.
Έκτοτε ζουν μαζί στο καταφύγιο ζώων Κιβωτός του Νώε στην Ατλάντα. Έχουν αναπτύξει τόσο δυνατό δεσμό που οι υπεύθυνοι του καταφύγιου δεν μπαίνουν καν στη σκέψη να τους χωρίσουν έστω και για λίγες ώρες. Μια φορά που το έκαναν για να περιθάλψουν τη Μπαλού, ο Σερ Καν και ο Λίο έπεσαν σε βαριά κατάθλιψη. Υπέροχα πλάσματα.
We've mentioned before that the BLT have a remarkable bond. They play together, sleep together, and eat together. Here's a clip of all 3 at feeding time.
